Japan Environmental Education Forum (JEEF) and Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) have implemented a project entitled "Project on livelihood improvement for the poor honey collector through coast watershed conservation around the Sundarbans in Bangladesh" by the grant assistance for grassroots projects of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. Under the project a 'The Sundarbans Workers Honey Collectors Cooperative society Ltd.' was formed with 50 honey collector families which was registered by the Department of Cooperatives, Government of Bangladesh. A honey processing and packaging center has been established beside the Harinagar Bazar in Munshigonj with the members of this cooperative society. The society members' knowledge has been developed on honey collection, processing, packaging and marketing in a sustainable way. The male members of the society are collecting different flowers' honey with wax for the first time considering the bee and the Sundarbans conservation. The male and female members are processing and packaging the collected honey in a proper way in the Honey Processing Center. Now, they are marketing their collected honey after processing and attractive packaging with the approval of BSTI. Along with these, there is a beautiful gift box which contains 3 bottles of 100 gm honey and a honey wax made tiger sculpture. This is the 100% pure and natural "Mowal Honey."
